yeah, it's a cover of an iron and wine song, which is on the Garden State OST. The Postal Service actually do quite a few covers, which i didn't realise until I heard them doing against all odds and was like..."hold on, i recognise this tune..!"

I always thought the Iron and Wine version was a cover?! It's on the B-Side to one of the Postal Service's singles if i remember correctly...

Yeah, TPS do quite a few other ones, but other bands do their songs. Recycled Air done by the Shins is a pretty damned good case in point

Just thought I'd get things on topic a bit again. Right, so you lucky people! You know what we've gone and done, don't you? Oh yes, that's right! You thought you were getting 4 bands, but because we're so, so very nice to you, we thought we'd squeeze an extra act into the bag! 5 acts are now playing in our room. And they are: Midland Railway, Nick's band open the acts with a great set. Find them at www.themidlandrailway.co.ukThe Sleaze, who are about to support the Pedestrians on a huge tour. Check them out here: www.the-sleaze.com/The Pedestrians, who have large amounts of industry interest, and will be playing their best set for you all. Look at their myspace or follow this link: www.thepedestrians.co.ukCrosbi, whose influences include The Who and Joy Division, promise you a treat. Find them here: www.crosbi.comand last but certainly not least... Performance, who I promise you will all love. Check out a video of theirs here: www.weareperformance.co.uk/home.php?id=5:3:1the main website is, obviously, www.weareperformance.co.uk

Can't get better than that *grin* Now all you have to do is make sure you get everyone you know to come. I need your help hyping this too! Talk to people after your exams about it. Tell them how great it's going to be. Even non-indie people. This night has already been selling quickly, from what I've been told there won't be tickets left for on the door sale, so go and get yours (and some for your mates!) as soon as you can!

I hope you're all going to arrive early. Unless of course, you want to miss us, which i guess shouldn't be ruled out as a possibility. This is going to be so good though i reckon.

Crowd-wise, the worst case scenario would leave me dedicating songs to various huge empty spaces in the room. I think it'll be okay realy. I'd encourage everyone to drink before coming along too. It will make us seem better.
Actualy, i should posssibly use this opportunity to plug our ep. It's now available, and costs only £2. It's available from me, or from Piccadilly Records or Roadkill Records, both on Oldham St. You can hear Railway songs before the gig that way.

ben, you are a legend! ;D between this and the new karma system thingy, im gonna have to give you some karma! erm, just wondering why this makes ben a legend? i think alex and rob both deserve copious amounts of praise as well for their efforts in sourcing and booking bands....let's not forget that there's a whole committee behind indie soc....

oh yeah, nick (or anyone) if you wanna give me some cds to flog we're having a general indie soc sign up table set up in the room and we could sell stuff from there...
this'll also give anyone who's a member but hasn't got their card/badge yet another chance to pick them up....and if you haven't joined us, why the hell not??? well this is the perfect time. come to pangaea and see what you're missing xxx

but then ben does work pretty hard at the indie soc. harder than most people, surely? just look at his post count... no way! the whole committee puts loads of work into the soc. just because we're not as vocal as ben doesn't mean we're slackers. in fact the indie soc has a greater importance to me than my degree, which is probably wrong, but it's my absolute favourite thing to do. i don't want to sound like i'm taking control but i know i've put in as much if not more work than ben, as have all the others. we're a team, not a one man band, and i know that ben will agree completely on this.
