Helllllll yes. I think Buck 65 will make an appearence (he always does) and hopefully there'll be something mind bending. Last year there was Four Tet, WHO KNOWS what we'll be treated to this year? Boards of Canada? We can dream. We can dream.

ok i have just seen a rumour that the "special guests" on the listings are Bullet For MY Valentine... which is a bit of an anti climax... unless they mean special guets for radio 1 listing. But still if its true, they aren't that good

i have had an IDEA.
i was thinking yesterday whilst wandering the streets of derby planning my night out what a true shame it was that some of you might never experience the sheer joy (well, sort of) that is my local, the bluenote. this fine establishment has been around for many a year (my parents went to its opening night when they were younger) and has had a fne collection of bands pass through its door (dexys, the who, er... ub40..) but don't let that cloud your judgement on its awesomeness. it's a tiny wee indie nightclub tucked away down a sleazy alleyway and up some viciously azure stairs. the drinks are fairly cheap, for derby (£2.30 for a double + mixer/pint on fridays, cheaper midweek - goldstrike is £1!), and its clientele is the largely underage emo population of the city, although you do get the odd hipster every now and again. but the music... the music is, well, ace. no matter what your taste you are GUARANTEED to hear at least one song that you recognise, whether it be the most generic of indie pop, that rare mastodon b-side and even ska YES, ska. in one, 250 capacity bounceathon. basically, it's cheap, it's a fucking joke of a place and your feet stick to the floor and it's a right laugh if you're in the mood for it.
and, whilst plotting away in my head, i mused over the potential times when the vast majority would be 'in the mood for it'. and i settled on this: the night before we go to leeds festival.
so, IF YOU CAN'T BE ARSED TO READ ALL THAT START HERE:
anyone heading to leeds festival, or who fancies a random night out in derby, is welcome to stay at my house on the night of WEDNESDAY 23RD AUGUST. if you arrive early in the day we can drink whiskey from the bottle on the park and pretend we're at leeds/tramps, and i can take you to reveal records, the best record shop ever.
the bus from derby to leeds festival is about £20 and involves changing in leeds centre OR you can get one from nottingham which is probably cheaper. i'll know more details nearer the time, but it shouldn't cost much more than that.
basically it's just an idea at the moment, cos i know how much i'm going to miss you guys when i go and want to see you all over teh summer. so, is anyone up for it?
