Following on from the success of Insomnia at Pangaea, the Indie Soc are teaming up with [raw], the Rock Society to bring you an intra-genre, cross-society club night.
Keep Wednesday the 1st of March free in your diaries, and make sure to tell all your friends/flatmates/lovers/lecturers. The party will be hosted at Mutz Nutz Nightclub on Princess Street. All drinks (including pints!) £1.50 all night. Entry will be ridiculously cheap for members, so make sure you bring your membership cards.

Ooh, I think I'm a member of both the indie society and raw, have never been to any events by either though. Which one shall I pledge my allegiance to, come the raw vs indie society party? What a dilemma indeed.

pledge allegiance to both hehe we'll fight over you. it will be bloody. and raw will probably win because they're all metal etc but it will be fun. until someone dies.

it's fun until someone dies. then it's just hilarious! we'll win because t'indie soc are full of engineers and geeks and we'll outsmart them all

we'll win because we have the infinitely better music taste, and as we all know that's the most potent force against metalheads.

i think it says something that indie was given a room in pangaea, when metal wasnt. i think indie has more appeal to the masses. most people, no matter what theyre music taste, like a good few indie tracks, when people tend to either love or hate metal

yeh but all the engineers'll be in t'other room! I resent that sweeping statement about all engineers. I dont like raw/harm.

Some indie music is particularly fashionable at the moment though, so i expect the indie room will draw more people in during most of the night. In terms of the geekiness debate though, if you think of wargamers or roleplayers and such, they're nearly all metalers, so Raw could be quite hard to out-geek. How hard do you think we should try?

Erm. Yeah. If you ask me, it's the mathematicians that are the scary ones. Ben even talks about maths in Sainsburys, ffs.

Chemistry is the terrifying subject. A bunch of insance nazi scientists with cold, clinical minds who'd think nothing of setting fire to an effigy of jesus and pissing on the ashes in the name of All That Is Good And Scientific. When they go on pub crawls they wear lab coats. Rooms become searing eyesores of Daz White. And it takes ages to get served at the bar.
We'll kick Raw in the arse. Most RAWK fans are depressed teenagers who lie on their beds all day writing things like "Stones and bullets, stones and bullets, why won't they accept me?" Fair enough, indie fans are pretty much the same. Only they write things like "Tree love plant clusterfuck in rambuction conjunction with greenfire". The difference is that indie fans seldom air guitar. And THAT'S when we'll strike.

;D I have actually been told that my French accent is rather good when speaking English, which is quite insane. Hmmm, maybe I'm the secret French member of the Indie Society and not Ben. Or maybe we really are brother and sister, separated at birth, since WE HAVE THE SAME DAD AND ALL.
