Eraserhead is my favourite film, and I think that everyone should make an effort to watch it. No really, that is actually what I think. I really think that everyone should see this film, because it's quite possibly the best thing that mankind has ever achieved. As my brother said when referring to "Two Headed Boy", "It goes beyond brilliance and becomes pure humanity". Eraserhead is humanity on celluloid.
Anyone seen it?

what a film, its so surreal and open to many interpritations, I kinda think of it as a celluloid cousin of kraftwerks trans europe express in that it documents the monotony and bleakness of modern industrial life. But the ending is just bizarre! a man being eaten by a planet =/

i finally watched it.. and was ridiculously freaked out. but looking back, i understand it a bit more. i even had a dream about being pregnant, giving birth under the influence of lots of drugs, and producing a baby that was the size of a mouse. it was very eerie, but not so dark as the film.
im not sure i understand the disgusting guy, pulling the levers... God?
and there i was, trying to get to him...

Does Eraserhead leave you feeling happy? Or is it a film that fucks with your head and leaves you feeling confused and depressed?

I've seen it about six times now, and it really does get better with every viewing. I have to say that last Wednesday was the most fun I've ever had watching Eraserhead. The huge screen made me notice things I've never noticed before, and the immense sound system made you actually *feel* the grinding industrial soundtrack. And for the first time ever it made me laugh! Hysterically!! I never thought of it as a comedy, but some moments are priceless!
So to conclude, it leaves you feeling happy whilat fucking with your head. Best of both worlds then.
