My dad bought a Frank Sinatra CD from the supermarket today, which is stupid as he has every single FS song ever. Can I just be your manager and boss you around?

There is absolutely nothing wrong AT ALL with buying music from a supermarket. Why should there be?

because supermarkets have a monopoly on just about everything at the moment. we dont want them to control the entertainment market as well! anyway, the internet is mostly cheaper. and you cant beat independant record stores

that's why supermarkets can't monopolise on recorded music - there's far too much of it for them to stock it all, though i do agree that supermarkets are taking over the world.... but only in general stuff - they don't seem to specialise in anything, which means in theory indie record stores will always be needed.... providing x-factor doesn't take over the world and send indie down the shitter

Ugh, i think i'd probably die if sharon osbourne told some indie band "nah, you're not good looking enough". I mean, seriously, how the hell would bands like Radiohead have made it through if they had to go through X-Factor? Yeah, they're beautiful but only because we love them so

There's nothing wrong with supermarkets selling music. For chart CDs they're just as cheap as the internet, and the fact that they only sell chart stuff will mean that there'll always be a place for the indie store.
Oh god, you've not been boycotting have you?

On an entirely different note, there's 2 guys I know who whenever they heard "Formed a band" when they were out, used to stand looking at each other singing it and pointing at themselves cos they recently did form a band together. It was so fucking hilarious and they always were singing like they meant it, which in this case was true.
*sigh* i miss my little trips to nottingham i had last year. Rescue rooms *sigh*. twas the only time i was able to go out to indie places last year but now there is this magnificent beast of a society and a happy ending was had by all! ;D
