Hey folks, wonderin if anyone wants to start a band n is stayin in fallowfield(i'm at owens park)...... i play guitar(nearly 5 years) n have had band experience in th past(only 2 gigs tho)........ thinkin of a vox/guitar/guitar/keys/bass/drums setup or similar...... into general indie, some prog, ambient/spacey stuff n stuff with a melody; specifically.... radiohead, kasabian, stone roses, the verve, oasis, pure reason revolution, primal scream, editors, joy div, arcade fire, etc.....
Give me a shout....
Ian

oh Alex ALEX ALEX LOOK! He has described our band! I'll elaborate: Alex and I want to start a band, her Keys, me Guitar and maybe vocals (backing or lead depending on who else we get), and we're dying to find people. The main problem is the lack of DRUMMERS. If you know anyone who plays, please tell us! I live in Fallowfield too, literally 3-4 minutes away from owens park.

stockport isn't too far away, which is handy. To be honest, drummers don't have to be fantastic, and tell him the best way to learn is to play with other people, because it helps to get you in rhythm with others, blah blah. i'm sure you can blag it

I play guitar.....live in fallowfield.....I am pretty good. (Modesty?) If someone had a bass I'm pretty sure I could play it like a monster.

I know a few people that might be interested. I myself bash the hell out of a drum kit every now and again but not very well, hehehe.

it's never the problem of finding people willing to hit drums, it's the problem of finding the drums

Ah yes, the age-old problem of finding something suitable to hit. I could tell you where to find my drum kit....unfortunately, that's not in Manchester.

I might be able to get my hands on a kit. There is a possibility it will fail. There is also the possibility that this "kit" will look more like a garbage cans than anything else.

when you say will "look like" bins, do you really mean they *are* bins?

i used to be in a band and i have enough ideas to go into a book (they are in a book atm). I think only a couple of my old bands songs are worth developing though

Soundin good, i've found that jammin in a band set-up usually produces ideas anyway but its good to have plenty of initial riffs.

Fantastic! Do they have kits? If so, then choose the one that has either the best kit or the best talent. Interchangable

OH FUCKING ACE. Ask him if he's interested. We have all the elements now. You still interested in playing guitar Jimi? We found another guitarist and he has a massive room, big enough to practice in, and he plays bass too (so he's interchangable!). What do you think?
