yeah, but it's better than the live version (DES). I take it you got it off Peter Callow too? xx

I noticed loads of things I hadn't noticed before on the CD version, like orchestral flourishes, vocal harmonies, electronics. They might be on the MP3s, I don't know, but, but, but, the album is WELL WORTH INVESTING IN, Kids! And that's swearing, we have evidence in favour of the argument that in internet isn't killing CD sales.

no shit! The internet is the reason I still would buy CDs. there's no way i'd risk wasting money on a band with so much good music out there! I'd want to hear it first!

6music last night said the album was the link between disco and goth or something and are comparing it to prince and queen.... not a good omen in my book, but the tunes i've heard so far seem ok
before i go and buy it, can somebody answer me this please: is it epic, majestic prog or some pomp queen-infested pretender of prog?

(i may be slightly biased) it's definitely epic. It's got HORSES AND LASERS FOR CHRIST'S SAKE! heh. The album just..works so well. It's a fantastic album and I am pretty sure you'll love it

Epic and majestic indeed! It's so comforting that bands can make noises like this in 2006 and not get lynched by the fashion elite! With hope I've been inspired. "Guessing the Identity of The Secret Witch" might yet get a release!

went out n got it and yes, i agree, it is pretty spectacular... not really agreeing with all the punditary talk of prince and queen and such - i think it may just be because the yoof writers don't know prog... knights of cydonia reminds me of a rush tune for the final riff - can't remember which tho... i'm sure it'll be reet at leeds fest

It's got HORSES AND LASERS FOR CHRIST'S SAKE! Ben, please tell me exactly what a laser sounds like. The last time I was working with one, there was a little humming of a fan trying its best to keep it cool.

i guess you'll just have to BUY THE ALBUM LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE anyway, it sounds like a fight from battlestar galactica, crossed with the charge of the light brigade.

Does Matt Bellamy do Warhammer, and collect all the models, paint them the CORRECT colours, and then store them in a cupboard, and never look at them again? I think he does.

nah, he's just a nutter who likes space far too much. H-eight is the one for him, it gives him all he needs (except for TEH DOMINIC) helps him co-exist (WITH DOM).

A double speed Cygnus X-1 prr'haps? i'm thinking more part II of 2112; i may be wrong though, i get mixed up with what's what in the world of rush EDIT: the bit where they go: "we are the priests of the temples of syrinx" as i said, it merely reminds me of it and isn't a carbon copy
