I've seen them and love them, but they are the night before an exam... poo. Everyone else should enter, it is worth it.

mmm, i saw them at glasto, and thoroughly enjoyed them. for anyone who doesnt know, they have guitar, bass and drums to start songs, then they turn on a drum machine, and the drummer picks up a guitar and starts playing and singing. something like that anyway. it was a long time ago....

when i saw them at my union the singer (i think's james) was at the front with the drum machine then every so often he'd leg it round to his drum kit and smash the crap out of it! the longcut are ace live

i'm sure i started a thread on this before... but, yes, a quality band... and it's only 6 quid forfooksake so really everyone should go whether they win the compo or not
yeah, they mix it up with what instruments are used at what point in the tunes... quite a noise for a 3-piece

Yeah they're really good! Apparently you get a free 7" at all the gigs on the tour too so another reason to go.

its purely for reference purposes. im sure the band would prefer me to illegally download their album in order to make up my mind about seeing them than just not bother because i dont know enough of their music. it sounds bloody good though, so it might end up being something i buy.

Is anyone else going? I look at Swales in particular, who I KNOW likes them. And you, actually, Alexandra - exams the day after are absolutely no excuse, since I have one and I'm going.

sorry tom i've already sold it before i read your response on here... there'll be plenty of tickets left and... a tip i learnt last nite at the guillemots; touts are having to sell tickets at below the face value - i reckon it's because of exam time n that - so they're worth a look for any ticketless longcutters

it's a fiver in - it's not that secret cos it's on their myspace
i'm thinking of going but it may be sold out with me having dawdled over it for the past 3 days

I'm happy I've seen them, so I don't think I'll bother unless I win tickets. A fiver is good value though. I was surprised by the kind of crowd they drew to be honest, not what I was expecting at all.

it's the mancunian link - i don't think they'd get the same crowds all over the country - it's like the liam forst gig i went to last week - they're peas from the same "local hero" pod
