ive just been getting a little nostalgic reading old posts (coz lets be fair, what else is there to do on a sunday afternoon). lots of classic memories; talking to people for the first time, arguments about pete doherty etc. its all got me thinking, i never actually got around to writing one of these introduction thingies! so here it is. sorry its a bit late
hello, i am tom. you may have met me before.
first things first, im ever so slightly weird. ive had a bit of a weird childhood, which has left me ever so slightly fucked in the head. this isnt necessarily a bad thing, in fact, it gives me a bit of character. but it means i occasionally do/say the wrong thing. dont take this to heart though, im a loving guy, and mean well to everyone who treats me with a bit of respect.
as for music, well music is the single most important thing in my life. well, maybe with the exception of family and friends.
i am almost always listening to music. its very natural for me to spend the whole day in my room just listening to music, or to put on a cd when i get back from a club/party/bens house at stupid oclock in the morning. i love to discover great music, rediscover great albums that i havent listened to in ages, go to gigs, and occasionally just lose myself so completely in music that it seems like nothing else matters.
my three favourite bands ever are radiohead, pink floyd and super furry animals. other notable mentions are eels, beck, elbow, goldfrapp, grandaddy, i am kloot, sigur ros, interpol, jeff buckley, led zeppelin, lemon jelly, manic street preachers, the mars volta, mew, moby, royksopp, mogwai, the dears, easyworld/david ford, mull historical society, magnet, the beatles, supergrass, the beach boys, david bowie....... i could go on and on, but i dont want to bore you. ive probably missed loads out, but who doesnt!
basically, i just love music, in all its forms. i like quite a lot of dance music, classical music, jazz, pop, blues etc.
other than music, i like a lot of tv and films. but i dont really tend to remember what i actually like. things just occasionally occur to me how great they are!
i could say loads more about myself, but that would just be boring. just ask me if you have any questions.
thank you for taking the time to listen to my rambling crap (assuming that you actually did),
tom
