you should come along to events! indiesoc rules! we basically go out, get drunk, and dance like idiots. you should fit in rather well! are you coming to pangaea? you are probably aware we will be taking over academy 3 for the night, and it will rule! after that, the next event is on monday i believe. just the usual monday night quiet drink. youll find details about it somewhere

hello and welcome! OHMYGODILOVETHEARCTICMONKEYS! Yeah...I'm Simon and I'm the one that's obsessed with Arctic Monkeys. I also very much luff The Libs and Blondie and Cribs (going to see them next month, you going?). So I approve of your taste in music! Come along to to any of the nights out, i'm not one of the people that run this thing, but yeah, anyone's always welcome! Keep an eye out on this forum...and if you're going to Pangaea, we'll be all in Academy 3...you'll be able to sign up to t'indie soc there...there are also regular meet-ups for quiet drinks every monday...come along to one of those as it'll be the best chance to meet us all...and we're all completely ace so you'll want to meet us all...obviously... EDIT: and oh! I also *love* Mowtown! Stevie Wonder is my favourite!

unfotunately pangaea is sold out. unless you can find a ticket quick, it looks like you may be missing out on what could be a quality night. not sure whats happening on monday. were going to a new pub. i think were meeting in the union bar before though, so you might as well go there. ask someone on the committee for times. dont worry about fitting in. we have become quite a close group, but we are always on the lookout for new people! youll get on fine im sure!

I didn't I *think* the next Monday meet up is going to be on the 6th of Feb, we're moving venue for our weekly pub outing, so we're meeting up at the SU first on the 6th so we can all be shown the way there! And no, you won't look odd...no odder than the rest of us anyway! And yeah, Pangaea's sold out...you should've got a ticket!! boo!

I'm pretty sure the next one's on the 6th...could be wrong though!! Don't see why there shouldn't be one next monday, but bleh...Won't be able to make it to the meetup at the 6th though...at least not until late...going to see The Rakes... but yeah, Kirst, hang around on the forums, post a bit and you'll get to know what we all look like which will help you loads when it comes to finding out who the hell we are when going to meetups! and there are loads of photos of us here: www.umsu.manchester.ac.uk/indie/ not only will that show you how much fun we all have! it'll let you know what we all look like.

hey there kirst, good to have you on board! (incidently how did you find us? i like to know....) yeah the next meet up is on the 6th...i think the committee felt like having a week off after pangaea, explaining the slight gap...we're going to czech bar and i don't know where that is either so we are meeting at the union but times etc i can't remember....im sure we'll send out lots of info nearer the time.

I feel so proud that lots of people gave really helpful information Awh this society is so lovely. It makes me know how worth it it really is. Yeah, next society meet up is on February 6th. A few reasons it's not going to be the Monday: Firstly I had no idea what my timetable was going to be like, so i wanted to make sure it'd be okay Secondly, I need a break, and I am sure everybody else does after exams and Pangaea. Thirdly, aren't the Strokes playing monday and aren't I going to that?

Welcome to the forum! It's nice to have lots of indiesockers/ potential indiesockers living in Oak House (I live there too). If you're anything like the rest of us weak-willed, spineless indiekids though, the forum (and indeed the soc) will start to take over your life. It's a good thing though, I promise! OMG SO EXCITED ABOUT THE STROKES, THINK AM GOING TO COMBUST.

You wouldn't happen to have been listening to Wolf Parade in your room earlier, would you? I was walking past maple with a friend and he heard it coming out of a window along there...

theres loads of people around oak house with a great taste in music! i hear loads of good stuff being pumped out of rooms! i hear much more shite mind, but hearing someone playing sigur ros makes up for stuff like that!

Are you an oak house member and all!? Sigur ros i suspect may be my flatmate, cant say im a huge fan but it is certainly better than some of the other crazy shit you here, example being the black eyed peas 'My humps', i may go crazy if i hear that song at 4 in the morning again!
